I don't know if this will work. But it seems it was silence that was ordered so I think there may be a way out of this without anyone else having to die.

Don't make a sound. Keep quiet and stay out of sight until reset. It might be that they're attacking anyone that makes noise and aren't actively seeking anyone out.
